Welcome the present moment as if you had invited it. Why? Because it is all we ever have.

For all that has been, thanks; to all that will be, yes.

To us, our house was not unsentient matter -- it had a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals and solicitudes and deep sympathies; it was of us, and we were in its confidence, and lived in its grace and in the peace of its benediction.

Something precious is lost if we rush headlong into the details of life without pausing for a moment to pay homage to the mystery of life and the gift of another day.

They taught me that I am not above or beneath anybody- and that I stand to gain as much, or more, from folks who live in society’s shadows as from those on top of the world.

Hear much and say little.

Superior in the simplicity of their knowledge, they watched with alarm as the most free amongst them—the humans—caged themselves. “Their cars, their homes, their offices and cubicles box them in! It is of interest to note that while some dolphins are reported to have learned English -- up to fifty words used in correct context -- no human being has been reported to have learned dolphinese.
