Serenity

next
Serenity means maintaining a sense of inner peace even in difficult situations. We gain serenity by accepting the things we cannot change and focusing our energy where we can make a difference. When we practice serenity, we are not overcome by anger and anxiety. We don’t fear these emotions but we keep them in balance because we govern ourselves rather than being ruled by circumstances or emotions. When we hold onto our own sense of calm, we help others to keep theirs.
Serenity
Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.

When the senses are stalled, when the mind is at rest, when the intellect wavers not-- that, say the wise, is the highest state.  This calm of the senses and the mind has been defined as yoga.  One who attains it is freed from delusion.
