Strength

Hear me, four quarters of the world - a relative I am! Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is! Give me the eyes to see and the strength to understand, that I may be like you. With your power only can I face the winds.

With courage you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate, and the wisdom to be humble. Courage is the foundation of integrity.

Hold your precious heart steadfast in fortitude until the siege has passed and you will be duly nourished.

Women are like teabags. We don't know our true strength until we are in hot water!

It is not the "courage to be" that we must develop as much as the "courage to become." We are responsible for our destiny. The meaning of life is not located in some hidden crevice in the womb of nature but is created by free persons, who are aware that they are responsible for their own futures and have the courage to take this project into their own hands.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

But never forget that you can only stumble if you are moving.

Out of suffering comes the serious mind; out of salvation, the grateful heart; out of endurance, fortitude; out of deliverance faith.

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.

To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage.

The true character of liberty is independence, maintained by force.

We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

Only action gives life strength, only moderation gives it charm.
