Focus

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

I've learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.

Take more time, cover less ground.

When you listen generously to people they can hear the truth in themselves, often for the first time.

Outwardly one's life may suffer every kind of limitation, from bodily paralysis to miserable surroundings, but inwardly it is free in meditation to reach out to a sphere of light, beauty, truth, love, and power.

The world is evolving from imperfection to perfection. It needs all love and sympathy; great tenderness and watchfulness are required from each one of us.

Nothing has a stronger influence psychologically on their environment and especially on their children than the unlived life of the parent.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows.

The weakest living creature, by concentrating his powers on a single object, can accomplish something. The strongest, by dispensing his over many, may fail to accomplish anything. The drop, by continually falling, bores its passage through the hardest rock. The hasty torrent rushes over it with hideous uproar, and leaves no trace behind.

I gravitate toward gravitas.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

Life consists in what a man is thinking of all day.

One evening a Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 wolves inside of us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

You can see deeply into a tangled forest if you peer closely.

There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world; and that is an idea whose time has come.

Make a strong and permanent commitment to invest your talents only in pursuits that deserve your best efforts.

Purity of heart is to will one thing.

Our life is frittered away by detail.  Simplify, simplify, simplify! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumbnail.

The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.

When the senses are stalled, when the mind is at rest, when the intellect wavers not-- that, say the wise, is the highest state.  This calm of the senses and the mind has been defined as yoga.  One who attains it is freed from delusion. 

The power of concentration is the only key to the treasure-house of knowledge. 

Live for an ideal and leave no place in the mind for anything else.

No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated and disciplined.

The first rule of focus is
Wherever you are be there.

The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention.
