I believe in clear-cut positions. I think that the most arrogant position is this apparent, multidisciplinary modesty of "what I am saying now is not unconditional, it is just a hypothesis," and so on. It really is a most arrogant position. I think that the only way to be honest and expose yourself to criticism is to state clearly and dogmatically where you are. You must take the risk and have a position.

We can either watch life from the sidelines, or actively participate...Either we let self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy prevent us from realizing our potential, or embrace the fact that when we turn our attention away from ourselves, our potential is limitless.
It's been very important throughout my career that I've met all the guys I've copied, because at each stage they've said, "Don't play like me, play like you."

Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.
The closing of a door can bring blessed privacy and comfort - the opening, terror. Conversely, the closing of a door can be a sad and final thing - the opening a wonderfully joyous moment.

It is not the "courage to be" that we must develop as much as the "courage to become." We are responsible for our destiny. The meaning of life is not located in some hidden crevice in the womb of nature but is created by free persons, who are aware that they are responsible for their own futures and have the courage to take this project into their own hands.
He is able who thinks he is able.

Not to be cheered by praise,
Not to be grieved by blame,
But to know thoroughly ones own virtues or powers--
Are the characteristics of an excellent man.

Be confident, cheerful and contented. The mind can
produce any degree of contentment and peace. To generate these, no other
agency or help is required.
If you
have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence,
you have won even before you have started.
Confidence is that feeling by which the mind
embarks in great and honorable courses with a sure hope and trust in itself.
The man of genius inspires us with a
boundless confidence in our own powers.
True prosperity is the result of
well-placed confidence in ourselves and our fellow man.
He
who believes in nobody knows that he himself is not to be trusted.
One of the biggest obstacles to people improving their self-esteem is their constant need for approval by others. The problem with this is that until you believe in yourself, it will never matter what someone else says because the most important person doesn't believe it, You.
Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
