Selfless service to mankind makes you free in the world of mortals.
The goal of this office will not be to favor one religious group over another - or even religious groups over secular groups. It will simply be to work on behalf of those organizations that want to work on behalf of our communities, and to do so without blurring the line that our founders wisely drew between church and state.
He has the right to criticize who has the heart to help.

You cannot be so poor that you cannot help somebody.
Let them at all times concern themselves with doing a kindly thing for one of their fellows, offering to someone love, consideration, thoughtful help.
It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
To ease another's heartache is to forget one's own.
The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good action by stealth, and to have it found out by accident.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm... As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
Power is the ability to do good things for others.
In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.
If you’re too busy to give your neighbor a helping hand, then you’re just too darned busy.
If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.
If you haven't any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.
If a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking him if there's anything you can do. Think of something appropriate and do it.
If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.
To the world you may be just somebody,
but to somebody you may just be the world.
