resentments slip away and a sunny spirit

Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair.

Of course life is bizarre. The more bizarre it gets, the more interesting it is. The only way to approach it is to make yourself some popcorn and enjoy the show.

Anyone who takes himself too seriously always runs the risk of looking ridiculous; anyone who can consistently laugh at himself does not.
