Water has the capability to spliter: it needs a splash.

In leadership writ large, mutually agreed upon purposes help people achieve consensus, assume responsibility, work for the common good, and build community.

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life... as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them.

Once there is seeing, there must be acting. Otherwise, what is the use of seeing?

You look upon the seasons with expectation and await them: wy not seize the seasonal opportunities and exploit them?

Success doesn't come to you.  You go to it.

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm... As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

But never forget that you can only stumble if you are moving.

The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.

Be the change that you want to see in the world.

Good works are links that form a chain of love.

A religion that takes no account of practical affairs and does not help to solve them is no religion.

Until One is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no one could have dreamed would have come his or her way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own.  No apologies or excuses.  No one to lean on, rely on, or blame.  The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it.  This is the day your life really begins.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.
